Week 7 Waiver Wire: Find Opportunity Before Your League Does
Your next win might already be sitting on the waiver wire.
Week 6 delivered breakout receivers, backfields worth monitoring and a reminder that opportunity matters more than a familiar name. With Buffalo, Jacksonville, the Chargers and Washington on bye in Week 7, some managers need immediate starters. Others can afford to chase longer-term upside.
Here is where I am looking this week. Availability varies by league, and these recommendations lean toward PPR formats.
Wide Receivers: My First Stop This Week
Germie Bernard, Pittsburgh Steelers
Priority: High | Potential weekly starter
Bernard delivered 11 catches for 87 yards and a touchdown in Week 6. The catches matter just as much as the score. That kind of involvement gives a receiver multiple ways to help your lineup.
My take: He is my first receiver claim if available. Add him with the intention of considering him at FLEX immediately.
Omar Cooper Jr., New York Jets
Priority: High | Upside addition
Cooper returned with six receptions, 103 yards and a touchdown. That is an encouraging first step, although Adonai Mitchell's eventual return could change the target distribution.
My take: Make the claim before another productive game drives up the price. I like him for managers who need receiver upside.
Keenan Allen, Indianapolis Colts
Priority: Moderate | PPR depth
Allen drew 11 targets and caught eight passes in Week 6. His appeal is straightforward: receptions can keep a fantasy lineup afloat, especially when injuries thin out the alternatives.
My take: A practical addition when you need a usable receiver this week. Watch Tyler Warren's availability, because his return could affect Allen's opportunities.
Other Receivers to Consider
- Jaylin Noel, Texans: Upside stash, but Houston's crowded receiving group makes weekly volume uncertain.
- Tre Tucker, Raiders: A boom-or-bust option for managers willing to accept a low floor.
- Ja'Kobi Lane, Ravens: A developmental bench addition after returning to action.
- Kendrick Bourne, Cardinals: A depth option if the higher-priority receivers are gone.
Running Backs: Follow the Workload
Kendre Miller, New Orleans Saints
Priority: Moderate | Volume-based depth
Miller handled 22 touches in Week 6. That workload deserves attention even without a touchdown, but Alvin Kamara's involvement limits confidence in Miller's scoring opportunities.
My take: Add him if you need running back help. Keep the bid measured until production catches up with usage.
Dameon Pierce, Philadelphia Eagles
Priority: Conditional | Injury replacement
Pierce remains worth checking where available, especially if Saquon Barkley misses another game.
My take: His value depends heavily on Barkley's status. Make the claim for a potential emergency start, then reassess after practice reports.
Roschon Johnson, Chicago Bears
Priority: Conditional | Short-term FLEX consideration
Johnson's opportunity has increased with Kyle Monangai unavailable.
My take: Useful depth while that opening exists. Monangai's return would make Johnson harder to trust.
Stashes and Deeper Options
- Zach Charbonnet, Seahawks: Check availability and confirm activation and workload before starting.
- Jordan Mason, Vikings: A stash whose immediate usefulness depends on his return status.
- Bam Knight, Cardinals: More interesting if Jeremiyah Love remains out.
- Tyrone Tracy Jr., Giants: A speculative addition in an unsettled backfield.
Quarterbacks: Replace the Bye, Then Reassess
C.J. Stroud, Texans: My first availability check. His recent production makes him worth considering beyond a single replacement start.
Kyler Murray, Vikings: His rushing ability adds appeal for managers replacing a quarterback on bye.
Aaron Rodgers, Steelers: A streaming alternative if Stroud and Murray are already rostered.
Superflex note: Starting quarterbacks carry much more value in that format. Adjust your claim priority accordingly.
Tight Ends: Add With a Backup Plan
- T.J. Hockenson, Vikings: Worth checking, but confirm concussion clearance before putting him in your lineup.
- Hunter Henry, Patriots: A streaming alternative for managers who need an immediate option.
- Brenton Strange, Jaguars: A stash for after Jacksonville's Week 7 bye, not a solution for this week.
Defense and Kicker Streamers
Defense: My first checks are the Jets against Miami and the Browns at Tennessee. Choose based on availability and your league's scoring settings.
Kicker: Consider Ryan Fitzgerald, Jason Sanders or Andy Borregales. Keep bids small and check the weather before kickoff.
My Week 7 Approach
Start with Bernard and Cooper if your receiver room needs help. Prioritize Miller if running back is your biggest weakness, and move Stroud up your list if quarterback is costing you matchups.
Spend for a role you can use. Avoid dropping a dependable starter just to chase one big Sunday.
Keep Building. Keep Competing.
Check your league's waiver priority, set your claims before Tuesday's processing, and revisit the list after Friday injury reports. Opportunity rarely waits, so make your move before your league does.
